1. Choose a trampoline that prioritizes safety alongside top features
Not all trampolines are created equal. A quality trampoline is designed with safety in mind:
- Enclosed safety net — prevents falls while jumping
-
Strong safety net structure — net poles are made of sturdy tubing, the structure is robust, and the net is UV and weather-resistant, able to withstand jumper impacts
- Thick padded edges — protects against falling onto the springs
- Protected springs — the edge of the jumping mat extends over the springs, preventing feet from slipping under the padding and between the springs
- Certified — meets the strictest European safety standards
2. Position the trampoline correctly
The trampoline's location in the yard significantly impacts safety:
- Leave at least 2 meters of clear space in every direction
- Do not place the trampoline near trees, fences, or buildings
- A flat and soft surface (grass, sand) is better than a hard surface
- Avoid placing the trampoline on sloped ground
3. Clear rules for children
It's good to go over the rules before the first jump:
- One jumper at a time — multiple jumpers simultaneously significantly increase the risk of injury
- No practicing advanced tricks without supervision
- No jumping outside the net
- An adult must always supervise young children jumping
4. Regular maintenance extends lifespan and ensures safety
Check the trampoline regularly:
- Springs — are they all in place and intact?
- Jumping mat — is the mat intact?
- Safety net — are there any holes or wear?
- Paddings — are they properly attached and intact?
- Legs and frame — is there rust or damage?
We recommend performing checks in the spring before the season starts and in the autumn before winter storage.
5. Age and weight restrictions
Every trampoline is designed for a specific user group. Always check:
- Recommended age limit — children under 6 are recommended to jump only under adult supervision
- Maximum load — do not exceed the weight limit specified by the manufacturer
- Number of users — most trampolines are designed for one user at a time
